**Job Summary**:
The Assistant Director is a key member of the Office of Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution (OSC&CR) at Bucknell University, responsible for fostering the educational mission by engaging with students to uphold the Statement of Community Responsibility. Reporting to the Interim Assistant Dean of Students, the Assistant Director provides day-to-day management of the university's spectrum model of conflict resolution; advising student conduct administrators (SCA) within the scope of their role; managing Community Conduct Boards (CCB) and providing education and outreach to the university community on Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution matters.

This is a 12 month, exempt (salary), benefits-eligible position based in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Serves as part of on call rotation. Some evenings and weekends are required.

**Job Duties**:

- Manages student conduct cases including review of all allegations and reports of student misconduct to determine resolution pathway, assigning cases to SCAs, advising students of their rights and responsibilities as it relates to Code violations, investigating incidents, and facilitation of formal and informal meetings, outcomes, and interventions, taking into consideration campus safety and wellbeing needs, the rights of the individual and other legal requirements, and the provision of opportunities for student development. Assist in hazing investigations as needed and is responsible for an independent conduct caseload.
- Oversees the recruitment, selection, training, and scheduling of CCB. Coordinates comprehensive training programs for student, faculty, and staff members that serve as members.
- Participates in both annual and ongoing reviews of the Code and assists in the research and implementation of best conduct practices; Provides quantitative and qualitative information for assessment and compliance throughout the year. Assists with the management of student conduct software, and leads the assessment and analysis of cases within the system.
- In collaboration with Interim Assistant Dean of Students, develops, maintains and provides training for the SCAs.
- Assists the Assistant Dean and Director in developing and implementing the OSRR strategic plan and standard operating procedures. Assists with the development and review of policies, procedures, and practices. Researches and identifies behavioral resources and best practices to address persistent conduct issues.
- Assists with the development, implementation, and evaluation of restorative justice and alternative dispute resolution options. Provides leadership for student peer education programs.
- Serves as a resource on student behavior, conflict resolution, and interpretation of student conduct regulations for the campus community. Consults with a broad cross-section of institutional and community stakeholders including, but not limited to, faculty, Public Safety, Housing & Residence Life, Student Life, and Title IX Coordinator.
- Manages the University conduct database and works to improve OSRR efficiency and effectiveness using technology. Assists with case analysis and coordinates OSC&CR semesterly and annual reporting.
- Develops content for OSC&CR website and publications.
- Serves on University and Division of Student Affairs committees and projects and as an alternate member of the Care Team.
- Keeps abreast of current literature and developments in the field of Student Affairs and related professional organizations, including student conduct, alternative dispute resolution, restorative justice, and Title IX. Attends pertinent conferences and conventions and presents information when requested for shared development.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in higher education administration, student affairs or counseling or related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience in Student Conduct and/or Conflict Resolution in higher education.
- Thorough knowledge of Student Conduct philosophy and practices and a strong understanding of best practices in student affairs.
- Training in conflict mediation/alternative dispute resolution and demonstrated commitment to educating students and knowledge of student development.
- Proficient knowledge and understanding of student due process and FERPA.
- Outstanding and effective verbal and written communication skills as evidenced by the ability to articulate and present an organized, logical, professional case during disciplinary hearings as a University advocate, communicate decisions, write reports, plan and make professional presentations and convey information in accessible terms to a variety of aud
