**Primary Purpose**:
Remove trash from containers at all district facilities.

**Salary**:$16.46 - $23.20

**Qualifications**:
**Education/Certification**:
High School Diploma or GED

Valid Texas driver’s license Class CDL

**Special Knowledge/Skills**:
Ability to communicate (verbally)

Ability to operate trash truck and equipment

Ability to work with people and take direction from supervisor

**Experience**:
Two years’ experience truck driving.

One-year experience in heavy equipment desired

**Major Responsibilities and Duties**:
1. Maintain all school district trash containers for safety, appearance and operating efficiency.

2. Perform preventive maintenance on truck and dumpsters.

3. Responsible for pickup of all trash in the district.

4. Responsible for reporting any repairs needed to the trash truck or dumpsters to supervisor.

5. Responsible for the upkeep and disinfecting of the dumpsters (weekly).

**Safety**

6. Operate tools, equipment and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.

7. Follow established safety procedures and technique to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.

8. Ensure that vehicles, equipment and tools are in safe operating condition.

9. Inspect and adjust tools and equipment for safety and efficiency.

10. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctableto supervisor immediately.

**Other**

11. Any other duties assigned by supervisor.

**Equipment Used**:
Trash truck and pump up sprayer.

**Work Conditions**:
**Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Working Conditions**:
Continuous walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, carrying and heavy lifting. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures and loud noises. Frequent district wide travel, works around machinery with moving parts.
