Hospice Volunteer Coordinator

Gardner, United States Care Central VNA & Hospice Full time

24 hours per week position. Split over 5 days or 3 days per week. Must be available to work on Thursdays.

Responsible for all aspects of the Hospice Volunteer and Complementary Care Program. Participate with other Hospice Team members to achieve overall hospice program goals. Provides leadership for the Care Central VNA & Hospice Volunteer program. This includes advertising and recruitment, interviews, the screening process, program placement, supervision, support and evaluation.

Participates in Hospice Interdisciplinary Team meetings.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
- Experience in providing leadership for volunteers or para-professionals in a health or human services setting preferred.
- Ability to execute a supportive and sensitive approach to volunteer and patient/family needs preferred.
- Skilled in administrative functions including the ability to implement policies and procedures and to recommend changes preferred.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with other Hospice Team members, CCVNA staff and the community-at-large preferred.
- Must have own transportation.
- Willing to travel to provide home visits to patients and their families.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills.
- Hospice experience preferred.

Computer skills desirable, including MS Office and the internet.
