The Small School Districts' Association (SSDA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for small and rural school districts across the state of California. **APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS**:
**Position Overview**:
The Small School Districts' Association (SSDA) is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as the Director of Membership & Programs. This position will play a crucial role in enhancing the value of SSDA membership, developing and implementing innovative programs, and ensuring the effective engagement and support of our member districts.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Membership Development and Engagement**:

- Strategize Membership Growth: Develop and implement innovative strategies to recruit new members and retain existing members, ensuring continuous growth and diversification of the membership base.
- Cultivate Relationships: Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with current and potential members, acting as a key point of contact and advocate for their needs.
- Member Needs Assessment: Proactively identify and address the needs and concerns of member districts, Associate Members (corporate/vendor partnerships), and District and County Office of Education Members.
- Maximize Member Engagement: Ensure all members are actively engaged and utilizing their membership benefits effectively, creating value and fostering a sense of community within SSDA.

**2. Program Development and Management**:

- Innovate Program Design: Design, develop, and manage high-impact programs that address the specific needs and interests of member districts, enhancing their operational and educational outcomes.
- Event Coordination: Coordinate and oversee a diverse array of events, conferences, workshops, webinars, and other educational programs, ensuring they are well-organized and highly valuable to participants.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make data-driven recommendations for improvements, ensuring they remain relevant and impactful.

**3. Communication and Outreach**:

- Strategic Communication Plans: In partnership with the communications team, develop comprehensive and regular communications to members, including newsletters, updates, and alerts, ensuring timely and relevant information flow.
- Representation at Events: Act as an official representative of SSDA at conferences, meetings, and other public events, effectively communicating the association's mission and initiatives.

**4. Collaboration and Networking**:

- Align with Organizational Goals: Work closely with the Executive Director and other SSDA staff to align membership and program initiatives with the overall organizational goals, ensuring coherence and strategic direction.
- Foster Partnerships: Actively foster and manage partnerships with other organizations, agencies, and stakeholders, expanding the reach and impact of SSDA.
- Committee Participation: Participate in and contribute to SSDA committees and task forces, providing insights and support to various initiatives and projects.

**5. Administration and Reporting**:

- Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of membership and program activities, supporting transparency and accountability.
- Prepare Reports: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for the Executive Director and Board of Directors, providing insights and recommendations based on data and trends.
- Financial Management: Assist with budget preparation and financial management related to membership and program activities, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with financial goals.
- Association Management Software: Manage and optimize the use of our Association Management Software, WildApricot, to streamline membership and program administration, ensuring efficient and effective operations.

**Qualifications & Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in membership management, program development, or a related field.
- Experience in an Executive Leadership position
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of the needs and challenges of small school districts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using membership management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and social media platforms.
- Willingness to travel as required.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
