**Duties Description**

This Medical Assistance Specialist 2 (MAS 2) position will work within the DEMI Bureau of Consumer Relations and Local District Support. Responsibilities include interacting with assigned Local Departments of Social Servides (LDSS); serving as the liaison between the state and the LDSS for guidance and assistance in interpreting policy; responding to inquiries both verbally and in writing from other state agencies, consumers and governmental officials; assisting in audits both internally and externally; working with other units within DEMI and other divisions within OHIP to resolve inquiries from consumers and other state agencies; and assisting in special projects as assigned. The incumbent will also utilize the Welfare Management System (WMS), eMedNY and New York State of Health.
