**Position Overview**: Reporting to the Director of College and Career Readiness (CCR), the CCR Counselor at DCI will provide college and career counseling support to students as they explore postsecondary options and make informed decisions about their future. This position will collaborate with students, families, school staff, and outside partners to prepare a generation of leaders that continue to engage in deep learning, champion cultural competency, and embody personal agency.

College & Career Counselors report to work on July 25th.

**Salary Range**: $64,349- $108,691 (Starting salary is determined by education and years of relevant experience.)

**Minimum Qualifications**: The successful applicant for this position will have:.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- 2+ years of experience in college and career counseling at the secondary and/or postsecondary levels
- Demonstrated experience working closely with students and families from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated expertise in building and sustaining relationships with students and families
- Strong interest in language immersion, 1:1 technology, and International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme
- Knowledge of best practices in college and career counseling
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, access, and achievement for all learners
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
- Strong time management and oral/written communication skills

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Bilingual in Spanish
- Master's degree in Education from an accredited institution with a focus on school/college counseling or higher education
- Knowledge and experience with International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme structure
- Experience with international college admissions
- Experience inputting, collecting, and analyzing data

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Provides comprehensive, proactive, and responsive college and career counseling for students and their families, including first-generation students, English language learners, and students with disabilities
- Tracks and maintains student information and data such as college lists, academic data, admissions decisions, etc.
- Collects and disseminates information to the school community on program updates and opportunities taking place during the school year and over the summer such as college prep programs, dual enrollment, internships, community service opportunities, etc.
- Drafts and submits counselor recommendation letters for college admissions and scholarships
- Fosters relationships with representatives from postsecondary institutions, local partners, and national organizations
- Plans and coordinates field trips for students
- Plans and coordinates visits from representatives from postsecondary institutions to the school
- Assists in completing and sending school reports, transcripts, and midyear reports requested by colleges
- Collaborates with the Student Support Services team to support students with disabilities and language needs in preparing transition plans
- Maintains knowledge of trends in higher education and career preparation in addition to internal historical data to help inform future programming
- Holds membership in professional organizations such as NACAC and NCAN
- Supports the mission, goals, and strategic direction of the CCR team's mission
- Other duties as assigned
