Construction Inspector

**Overview**:
**BREE & Associates, Inc. **supports our clients by acting as their on-site agent through all phases of construction in various roles to include: Project Engineers, Project Managers, Inspectors, Cost Estimators, Schedulers, and Safety experts.

We are currently seeking **Inspectors **for a long-term Highway/Roadway/Bridge project with the Virginia Department of Transportation.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Inspect construction site;
- Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications and provisions;
- Verify proper materials and processes are utilized;
- Document project progress and prepare inspection reports;
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to address any issues or concerns;
- Enforce safety protocols and regulations on-site

**Requirements**:
**(R) **Required**; (P) **Preferred
- **Must have** **at least 3 years of experience in highway construction, preferably VDOT experience (R);**:

- Intermediate Work Zone Certification **(R);**:

- OSHA 10 Certification **(R);**:

- VDOT Soils & Aggregate Certification **(R);**:

- Nuclear Gauge/Hazmat Certification **(R);**:

- ACI Concrete Certification **(R);**:

- Asphalt I & II Certification **(R);**:

- Ability to work nights and overtime **(R).**

**Preferred (P)**:

- VDOT experience **(P);**:

- VDOT Pavement Markings Certification **(P);**:

- DEQ E&S/SWaM Certifications **(P);**:
Pay: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

**Education**:

- High school or equivalent (required)

**Experience**:

- Inspection: 3 years (required)
- VDOT: 1 year (preferred)

License/Certification:

- VDOT Soils and Aggregate Certification (required)
- Intermediate Work Zone Certification (required)
- ACI Concrete/Asphalt Certification (required)

Ability to Commute:

- Hampton, VA (required)

Ability to Relocate:

- Hampton, VA: Relocate before starting work (required)
