**Position Description**

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is looking for a **CAD Operator**. This individual will be results driven, motivated by technical challenges and have excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide CAD support to the Columbia, site, Engineering Department.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager and serving as an active member of our Engineering, Reliability, & Stores team at our **Gaston, SC** (Columbia, SC) site, the primary responsibility of the CAD Operator will be accomplished through the following tasks:

- Provides CAD support to CA Alpek Polyester engineering through day-to-day direction from the Engineering Manager.
- Prepares construction sketches for capital projects, as assigned, using Microstation.
- Reverse engineer and develop detailed sketches of various machine components.
- Updates Issued for Record (IFR) drawings in Microstation.
- Updates as-built drawings through the Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Prepares as-built/IFR transmittals for Project Administration distribution.
- Enters updated drawings into Falcon, Alpek Polyester’s Drawing Management System.
- Is the CA interface with the Alpek Polyester corporate CAD team.
- Performs field walk-downs, as needed, to verify as-installed conditions.

**REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS**
- High school/GED equivalent, minimum; some technical school or college is desirable.
- Minimum of 5-years’ experience as a CAD operator using Bentley Microstation.
- Experience working in a chemical facility is desired.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders is required.
