**POSITION TITLE: Elementary Math Specialist**
**CLASSIFICATION: Professional Staff**
**REPORTS TO: Building Principal**
**LOCATION: North Coventry Elementary**
**FLSA STATUS: Exempt**

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- **Provide specialized or individualized instruction in the classroom or in a pull-out situation to support students as they meet grade level benchmarks with math curriculum.**
- **Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher, MTSS Coordinator, math specialist, and other staff (special education, math, reading, specials, support staff, etc.) to provide effective instruction for all students**
- **Research and provide appropriate resources for staff and parents.**
- **Assist with assessment and diagnosis to inform instructional interventions, and to provide information to classroom teachers and parents.**
- **Assist classroom teachers in designing instruction for class, specific groups or individual students.**
- **Assist classroom teachers in using math assessments and interpreting and using results for instructional decision-making.**
- **Support individual teachers who may need assistance in developing and implementing the Everyday Math program.**
- **Model strategies or techniques, conduct demonstration or co-teaching lessons, if schedule permits and under the direction of the principal and/or K-12 Math Supervisor.**
- **Provide instructional guidance to paraprofessionals working the classrooms.**
- **Conduct staff development activities for teachers and parents.**
- **Implement building Title 1 or math support programs where applicable. p**rovide monthly schedules to the district Compliance Coordinator (signed by the principal).**

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary.**
- **Bachelor’s Degree.**
- **Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents.**
- **Ability to express self clearly and concisely in oral and written communications; and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.**
- **Well organized with good time management skills.**
- **Submission of PA School Personnel Health form.**
- **Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances.**

**TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT**:

- **190 days, 7 hours 30 minutes per day.**
- **Salary and benefits according to the negotiated agreement between the Board of School Directors and the Roberts Education Association.**
- **Bachelor's Degree starting $56,000; Master's Degree starting $61,000; Final salary determined by education and experience.**
