**(DSP) Direct Support Professional Team Lead**

This position requires an enthusiastic, creative, self-motivated and team-oriented individual. The DSP will exhibit a strong work ethic with a desire to help the Opportunity Center maintain and improve its processes to allow for sustainability and consistent positive credibility.

**Job Title: Team Lead DSP (Full Time/ Part Time)**

The DSP Team Lead will assist the Executive Director and Program Director and Program Coordinator with maintaining client Day Training activities and opportunities for community engagement, learning and person-centered development.

Work may be performed in a complex setting with diverse people and tasks. Regular participation in meetings with staff and other stakeholders is required.

**Reports To**:Program Director & Program Manager / Executive Director

Primary Function: DSP Team Lead implements and maintains consistent, professional and engaging programs and learning opportunities to assist and support the individuals served by the Opportunity Center of Owensboro, Inc. This position will also be required to successfully complete and maintain required skills as a Community Living Support (CLS) specialist, to assist the persons we support in specific Day Training (DT) activities, experiences and learning opportunities. Team Leaders are responsible for the health, safety and welfare of all assigned individuals while in the care of the Opportunity Center of Owensboro.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Education, Training, Abilities and Experience:

- Minimum of High School graduate or GED required
- Experience in the field of human services. Prefer some knowledge of working with individuals with a developmental disability
- Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Excellent organizational and time management and project management skills
- Strong communication and writing skills: the ability to interact with a variety of people and clearly convey information in writing and in person. Excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as take initiative independently
- Proficient ability to follow directions and work independently
- Knowledge of non profit organization structure and community interactions
- Knowledge of appropriate terminology for communications regarding persons with disabilities
- Ability to establish and maintain effective positive relationships with all segments of the community
- Proficient in ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly and accurately, complex, technical information
- Ability to operate various word processing software, spreadsheets, and database programs
- Demonstrate creative thinking and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Ability to organize, prioritize and utilize effective management techniques
- Assists in developing and implementing and generating concise and comprehensive reports
- Ability to problem solve, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prioritize & organize multiple projects and schedules
- Ability to remain self-motivated and achieve team-oriented results with tasks, tight deadlines, and limited oversight

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:

- DSP Team Lead will be responsible for supervising individuals with disabilities as assigned by the Program Director or Program Coordinator of the Opportunity Center.
- The Team Leader will ensure that the individuals are safe while attending the Opportunity Center program and activities.
