**Main Purpose of Job**:
As a member of the Administrative Office of the Courts executive staff and under the direction of the Director of the Department of Budget and Finance, the Deputy Director assists in the development and direction of the Maryland Judiciary?s Department of Budget and Finance office. In conjunction with the Director, the Deputy Director is responsible for the oversight and management of all AOC Budget and Finance functions to include but not limited to the accurate recordation of all Judiciary revenue and expenses, the development and consistent review and monitoring of the Judiciary budget, data validation in all systems, management and improvements to the Judiciary?s ERP system, and compliance with all GAAP, GASB, and GAD regulations.

**Education**:Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.

**Experience**:Eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience in budget and finance, which must include four (4) years of experience managing staff.***

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:
**Knowledge**:
Knowledge of Maryland Judiciary policies and procedures.

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), the State Comptroller General Accounting Division (GAD) policies and procedures and an understanding of the statewide account code structure.

Knowledge and operational understanding of state and judicial accounting systems and software to include Financial Management Information System (FMIS), GEARS (Oracle PeopleSoft), BARS and DASH (Oracle Business Intelligence)

Knowledge of Microsoft software and using Excel spreadsheets for creating reports.

Knowledge of the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) and ability to research the code.

Knowledge of procurement policies and practices.

Knowledge of internal audit principles.

Knowledge of segregation of duties to minimize audit issues.

Thorough understanding of all aspects of the financial execution and processes to include accounts payable, revenue reporting, reconciliation, and budget.
