Water Meter Technician

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The Meter Technician reports to the Office Manager and works in the field in support of the district's business activities. Focuses primarily on water meter related tasks, especially trouble-shooting problems related to meter readings. The applicant must be detail oriented, possess strong computer ability, be able to read and interpret numbers,.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**:
Duties include but are not limited to: Pull meters for closed accounts; lock meters for non-payment; unlock meters after payment; field verification of meter readings or meter details; Data-log meters on customer request; fulfil other minor service orders as needed. Occasionally, the Meter Technician supports the Meter Reader in the process of collecting water meter readings using a computerized meter reading system or manually.
**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**:
Position requires a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of one to two years closely related experience required.
Experience with Harmony Mobile, Neptune 360, Tyler Incode, or similar a plus.
**POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Must have working knowledge of MS Office software, be comfortable with computers and data collection devices
- Must be able to pass a medical physical, drug test, driving record check and background check
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unattended
- Must be able to work under all weather conditions
- Must be able to kneel and work below body centerline for extended length of time
- Must be reliable with punctual attendance
- Valid Texas Driver’s License is required
