THE PARTICIPANT IS A VERY SWEET INDIVIDUAL THAT LOVES TO LAUGH, COMMUNICATE WITH OTHERS, SPEND TIME WITH HIS FAMILY AND GO OUT IN THE COMMUNITY. THE PARTICIPANT USES A WHEELCHAIR FOR MOBILITY. HE IS ABLE TO EXPRESS HIS FEELINGS AND MAKE HIS WANTS AND NEEDS KNOWN TO THOSE WHO KNOW HIM BEST THROUGH VARIOUS SOUNDS AND GESTURES. HE POSSESSES GOOD RECEPTIVE SKILLS.HE CAN PARTICIPATE WITH PHYSICAL ASSISTANCE IN GAMES OR ACTIVITIES, SUCH AS KARAOKE. BEING UNDERSTOOD, HEALTH AND SAFETY ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO THIS INDIVIDUAL SO PLEASE, STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN WHEN PROVIDING CARE AND SUPPORT**

**DAYS OF NEED ARE MONDAYS, TUESDAYS, AND WEDNESDAYS**

**HOURS ARE 9AM TO 3PM**

**PAY RATE**

**DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL SHOULD UNDERSTAND HOME AND COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES**

**Support the individual to achieve his goals, likes, independence and full potential.**

**Provide ADL’s : bathing, dressing, hygiene, medication reminders, transferring-positioning.**

**Relate with the participant, communicate, understand, support in building a rapport**

**Use positive reinforcement and other techniques to support the individual**

**Lead by example and have a positive mindset and a great sense of humor**

**Actively support engagement with the community — provide support for the individual to engage in activities.**

**Provide excellent direct support to ensure that the individual remains safe in a family-style home**

**Ensures safety by observing, listening, caring for and maintaining a safe environment.**

**Must be willing to encourage independence while knowing when and how to adapt to the individual’s needs, supporting managing emotions and behaviors, while guiding, instructing role-modeling skills.**

**You must be reliable,routine -oriented trustworthy consistent staff who are clear and consistent communicators with excellent observation and patience**

**Qualifications**:

- **Minimum 1 year experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities**
- **High School Diploma**
- **Valid CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred AHA or American Red Cross)**
- **Current Physical**
- **Proof of COVID-19 vaccine**
- **Understand and know about Range of Motion**
- **Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation**
- **PA Criminal background check**
- **Child Abuse Clearance**
- **Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment and maintain all HIPAA requirements**
- **Must have the ability to write effective service notes, collaborate with family and the individual’s team.**

**Job Overview**:
**We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented SSP to join our team. As an SSP, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with disabilities in various settings.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities**:

- Assist in implementing individualized education or behavioral plans**:

- Support individuals in daily activities and social interactions**:

- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent care**:

- Monitor and document individual progress and behaviors**:

- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all participants**

**Skills**:

- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities**:

- Patience and empathy when working with individuals with disabilities**:

- Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team**:

- Knowledge of special education practices is a plus**:

- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Schedule:

- 4 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
