**Assistant to the Special Advisor for Arts Integration**:
**Office of the Chancellor**: The Office of the Chancellor is hiring an Assistant to the Special Advisor for Arts Integration who will be responsible for collaborating on the creation, implementation, and management of programs designed in the office. The Assistant to the Special Advisor will maintain relations between the office and its various constituencies as well as serve as a member of the core team think-tank. They will have demonstrated fluency in the arts area and offer the team a knowledgeable perspective from that arena.**Duties & Responsibilities**:
Vision and Planning
- Assist the Special Advisor and the Arts Integration team to realize programmatic vision - draft, revise, and review program plans.
- Bring creative thinking to design of programs - must be able to speak to the specific creative energies of our various target communities.
- Draw on individual creative specialty and training as a key contributor in visioning programs.
- Create infrastructure and develop policies for programs.
- Assist in coordinating selection/advising team that will confer with Special Advisor and support office programs.
- Represent the director at meetings as necessary.
- Identify, articulate, and share best practices for artists and scholars committed to creative engagement.

Program Management & Logistics
- Meet regularly with the Arts Integration Team to coordinate efforts in the office and across campus.
- Schedule, coordinate, and ensure the smooth running of Special Advisor’s calendar and program events and activities on campus or with community.
- Review and manage granting programs and related activities - i.e., information sessions, one on one conferences, etc.
- Coordinate grant logistics on behalf of the office; act as liaison with the Chancellor’s Finance Office to insure smooth operation.
- Communicate with funding recipients - expectations of the program, deadlines, reporting, crediting, etc.
- Work with financial officers to assure the smooth fiduciary responsibilities of the office sponsored granting programs and adherence to campus financial policies. (Familiarize themselves with these and work with the finance office/officer to do so).
- Work with Special Advisor and finance teams to negotiate contracts and arrange project payment and reporting schedules.
- Coordinate and manage any additional staff hired by the office to ensure efficiency and effective efforts as intended - i.e., student help; extra help; additional hires as the office grows.

Public Outreach and Partnership Development
- Cultivate relationships across campus and community to identify areas of interest and need.
- Explore, develop, and manage relationships across campus with interested parties and potential stakeholders.
- Assist in identifying and/or creating opportunities with Chancellor’s Executive Leadership teams to integrate their work with developing office programs.
- Innovate in areas that can stimulate new interest and excitement in arts practice and program development.
- Coordinate with communications staff to promote office activities to broader campus and community.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree.
- A total of one (1) year (12 months) experience in arts/creative field or creative adjacent field. (Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Two or more years of experience in arts/creative field or creative adjacent field.
- Experience in an academic area related to arts research, practice and/or community engagement.
- Master’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a creative field.
- Demonstrated familiarity with the arts funding ecosystem.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Demonstrated knowledge of the arts landscape in communities/state/nation.
- Must have knowledge skills/ability in a specific arts area to bring to the team/projects.
- Proven organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and independently as well as part of the team.
- Demonstrated ability to perform efficiently with a professional demeanor in a diverse work environment under flexible and often-changing deadlines and landscapes.
- Ability to work well with people from a variety of cultural, disciplinary, and creative backgrounds.
- Demonstrated familiarity and proficiency with current communication technologies; proficiency with commonly employed software and databases, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and various social media.
