**Position summary**:
The FOH Manager reports to and supports the General Manager in fueling manager and staff development, maximizing profitability and helps drive their location to achieve at high levels. Additionally, they help assess quality in every facet of the business and ensure that Alter culture is maintained. They will assist in setting a tone of professionalism, teamwork, hospitality, work ethic and excellence for the staff.

**Tasks**:

- Works with the General Manager to ensure open communication and understanding exists between management and staff.
- Promotes and instills Alter philosophies, culture and operational standards.
- Works with the General Manager and the management team during the process of hiring, training and development of staff.
- Coaches, mentors, develops and supports staff.
- Lead and schedule specific work groups.
- Promotes a team building and cooperative work environment that maximizes productivity and morale.
- Fosters an environment of inclusion and unity at all levels.
- Recognizes and celebrates individuals and work groups who exceed expectations.
- Focuses on people development and uses all the development tools available.
- Must conduct frequent table touches and have a “hands on” floor presence.
- Remains focused on instilling a guest-first mentality through a “lead by example” approach
- Manages the host stand, floor, telephone and Open Table reservations, catering/PDR events, staff, bar, kitchen line and guests on a shiftly basis.
- Reinforces to staff the importance of creating guest loyalty.
- Supports the General Manager in maintaining clear lines of communication and positive relationships between Front of House and Back of House operations.
- Ensure the team delivers exceptional front of house services.
- Implement dynamic operational working procedures to support the delivery of service excellence.
- Develop strong communication and line reporting procedures to guide service implementation making improvements or changes where required.
- Implement safe working practices to ensure safety of building occupiers and visitors.
- Participate in monthly management report meetings.
- Understands all aspects of financial controls including, but not limited to, cost of goods sold, labor, and supplies.
- Held accountable for meeting all deadlines, protocols, and policies and procedures
- Ensures execution of innovative and creative ideas that drive incremental sales and organic growth
- Ensures their location is properly using and maintaining all operational systems including but not limited to POS systems, Open Table, gift card processing and loyalty programs.
- Report sensitive personnel issues to the General Manger.
- Understands all marketing initiatives and assists in proper execution.
- Understands and assists the General Manager in the execution of strategies that achieve maximum sales growth and cost controls.
- Proficient in BOH functions, including expo, BOH closing procedures, food knowledge, dish and sanitation.
- Responsible for all money handling/money accountability during their shift.
- Responsible for proper money safe and checkout procedures.
- Responsible for the appearance of the physical property at the end of each shift.
