Seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented, patient-focused Intake Specialist - Infusion for our Highland, CA pharmacy location. The Intake Specialist - Infusion is responsible for providing customer services to patients referred to the pharmacy. Pharmacy Technician licensed preferred.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

- Intake information from referral sources and patients in a professional, knowledgeable, and courteous manner
- Route patient referrals to the appropriate department or individual(s) in the pharmacy
- Receive calls from new patients and referral sources and document all communications
- Verify insurance coverage and bill for products to determine coverage
- Prepare and secure medical necessity documents
- Ensure proper billing with insurance companies, contracts, other third-party payers and patients for all products and services delivered
- Maintain accurate billing records
- Create drug appropriateness cases for pharmacists to review for new referrals
- Create and follow up on contact cases for missing documentation
- Create authorization cases when it is determined that medication is not covered by insurance
- Complete clinical assessments for new patients with first-time medications or current patients with medication changes
- Work with Infusion RPh to obtain Infusion Orders and Supply list needed for each infusion
- Type in all infusion referrals including supplies needed
- Coordinate Nursing referral to appropriate agency
- Complete initial CA for patient and transfer to pharmacist for consultation
- Maintain a list of Home and Suite infusion patients to refill in an appropriate time frame
- Review Nursing Billing after each infusion and reconcile correct billing
- Add Nursing notes to patients profile and submit to provider office, as requested
- Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer
- Represent the pharmacy in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with patients
- Assist with the resolution of patient complaints and concerns in a professional manner
- Document and report patient concerns and complaints to the PIC
- Report incidents in compliance with pharmacy policy
- Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies
- Participate in the pharmacy’s Quality Management Program as requested by the Compliance Officer
- Participate in pharmacy committees when requested
- Participate in in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy
- Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures within the pharmacy
- Maintain confidentiality of work-related issues
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications
- Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records
- Ability to evaluate options and make efficient decisions
- High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
- Pharmacy Technician license

Physical Requirements
- The employee will spend prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items up to 40 lbs.

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
