North Berwick Elementary School is seeking a flexible and reliable person to serve as a permanent substitute teacher. A permanent building substitute is utilized to fill a variety of roles including classroom teacher, allied arts teacher, ed tech, and clerical responsibilities. Building substitutes are guaranteed work each student day from 8:10am - 3:30pm, and are the first substitutes to be assigned when staff absences arise. Prior experience working in public schools is a plus.

The job will begin August 30, 2023.Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: Effectively manage a classroom of students by keeping them on task and engaged while following lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacherAssumes all duties and responsibilities of the absent teacherMaintain a positive learning environmentMaintain student and staff confidentiality Assist with non-classroom duties when assignedAbout Our School: North Berwick Elementary is a small K-4 community school with approximately 275 students. Our school is successful because our parents, teachers, staff and community set high expectations and do a remarkable job working together to support our students. We are committed to teaching explicit and systematic literacy skills in all classrooms, and use Eureka Math as our math curriculum. As a school, we work together collaboratively to ensure all students feel a sense of belonging and that all students are engaged in purposeful learning every day.
