**Reports To**:General Manager

**Direct Reports**:

- _Lead Tech:_ Owns diagnostics & tech training. Assists with tech assignment & hiring.
- _Diesel Tech III:_ Owns advanced mechanic activities. Assists with diagnostics.
- _Diesel Tech II: _Owns basic mechanic activities. Assists with advanced mechanic activities and shop cleanliness.
- _Diesel Tech I: _Assists with basic mechanic activities and shop cleanliness.

**Position Description**:
Owns customer communication & service, tech assignment, identify parts and coordinate with parts department, prep for finalize billing, and shop optimization.

**Accountabilities**:** CUSTOMER SERVICE (45%)**
- Ensure customer satisfaction that upholds the mission of the company
- Schedules customer work & ensures sufficient workload to meet needs of company
- Provides excellent communication to customers on status of jobs & work/costs incurred
- Creates estimates, including parts identification and coordination

**TECH TEAM MANAGEMENT (35%)**
- Assign jobs to techs, give expectations of job completion
- Daily check-ins with GM regarding status of jobs & to get estimate approvals, etc
- Maintain and increase technician/shop efficiencies
- Work with lead tech/owner to create assignments for techs on daily basis.
- Assists in the reviews/correction process

**FINALIZED BILLING (20%)**
- Prep for final billing of customer invoices based on inputs and estimates.

- Consistent & sufficient flow of work within shop to meet the company’s growth goals
- Capture and articulate billing clearly and completely lending to customer satisfaction.

**Requirements**:
**Required Competencies**:

- Displayed communication skills, specifically written and verbal.
- Displayed competency with time management, both for self and others.
- Displayed experience taking ownership of a space/department and making it their own.

**Preferred Competencies**:

- Understanding of trucking industry and shop floor dynamics.
- Displayed ability working with technical/mechanically focused individuals.
- Openness to learn new skills as needed to accomplish tasks.
