The Elmhurst University Department of Mathematics places a high value on teaching excellence, collegiality, collaboration, and innovation. A Master’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics is required along with demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching in a comprehensive liberal arts setting. Applicants with prior experience teaching at either the community college or undergraduate level are strongly encouraged to apply.

The teaching load is eight courses over the 2024-25 academic year. Applicants should have a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for a diverse student body.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities for this position include course preparation, teaching, grading, and being available to students who have questions or require assistance, and service to the department and University. The teaching load is eight courses over the 2024-25 academic year. Typical class sizes range from 10 to 25 students. Main teaching responsibilities will include the teaching of the calculus sequence and the typical service courses in statistics and mathematics.
