- The AV Technician will provide expedited Level III support for out of warranty critical problems, including the infrastructure, configuration, programming, and installation of audiovisual systems and components within the University. Some of this work may be done during non-business hours including night and weekends to avoid downtime during scheduled classes.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Respond to out-of-warranty repairs on audiovisual equipment, systems, and components in learning spaces, especially during non-business hours, at the main campus and at Towson University in Northeastern Maryland promptly; use proper test equipment to test and document readings on the equipment; install and configure replacement equipment, cables, audiovisual system controllers, and components as necessary; complete Crestron programming work including uploading new code, making edits to existing code, examining code, etc.; provide support and expertise for all aspects of the integration of audiovisual systems.
- Provide support and expertise to the Academic Technology Consultants; work with Academic Technology Consultants to ensure the project meets Towson standards, all expectations, and ongoing communications with the client including proper alerts and signage for system outages; coordinate with other OTS units for networking support, cabling, and other services; coordinate with other TU departments such as Facilities Management for related repairs or construction; work with Academic Technology Consultants on final inspections and assists with the system turn-over and client acceptance.
- Assist Lead AV tech with performance of small upgrades and add-on installations of audiovisual systems, equipment, and components at the main campus and at Towson University in Northeastern Maryland to include, but not limited to, digital signage, projectors, document cameras, screens, video and sound components, etc.; complete light Crestron programming work as needed for these upgrades and small add-ons; provide support and expertise for all aspects of the integration of audiovisual systems.
- Assist with preventative maintenance program. This includes projector cleaning in classrooms, learning spaces, and in non-STF spaces at the main campus and at Towson University in Northeastern Maryland; using system tools like Fusion RV and TechHelp to identify trends and potential issues; use proper test equipment to analyze room audiovisual equipment, components, and the integration of it to ensure it is running at an optimized level and report any potential issues or upgrade needs accordingly; work with the Academic Technology Consultants and the manager of Engineering, Projects, and Service to identify if an upgrade, repair, or replacement is most appropriate based on the issue and the lifecycle of the equipment and components affected; coordinate with other OTS units for networking support, cabling, and other services; coordinate with other TU departments such as Facilities Management for related repairs or construction; work with Academic Technology Consultants on final inspections and assist with the system turn-over and client acceptance.
- Assist the manager of Engineering, Projects, and Service with: the design and testing of new equipment and technologies; the design and testing of Towson standards; the evaluation of the lifecycle of equipment and components; the list creation of needed equipment, components, and materials for small install jobs.
- In non-peak times, provide backup for all other tiers of troubleshooting to help provide faster resolution; assist Academic Technology Consultants with covering the 4Tech phone line, 2nd tier troubleshooting, room checks, and Quality Assurance (QA) checks; coordinate with other OTS units for networking support, cabling, and other services; coordinate with other TU departments such as Facilities Management for related repairs or construction; work with Academic Technology Consultants on final inspections and assist with the system turn-over and client acceptance.
- Assist Lead AV Technician with inventory management and tracking of new and recycled equipment; identify repurposing needs where this equipment can be used to save money in non-STF spaces; identify what is not needed on campus and if it is a possible donation or disposal; identify if any parts or cables would be useful as spare parts prior to disposal; complete the appropriate MMSR and donation forms accordingly; follow-up with management and individual employees if procedures for adding and
