**Position Description for Sr. WordPress Developer**

Apollidon Learning, an online program management firm serving higher education institutions, is seeking a highly motivated, knowledgeable, and talented **Sr. WordPress Developer **who will thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the rapid growth of a small business.

You will be responsible for crafting and implementing custom WordPress themes and plugins while maintaining the highest code quality standards. Proficiency in React, Node.js, and TypeScript is a must as you'll be developing complex, responsive, and interactive websites.

The **Sr. WordPress Developer **position reports to the **Director of Web Development Services**.

**Core Roles and Responsibilities**
- Lead the development of custom WordPress themes and plugins with a clean, intuitive design.
- Ensure high performance, security, and scalability of all WordPress installations.
- Build and support back-end services with Node.js.
- Leverage TypeScript to ensure type safety and maintainability of the codebase.
- Collaborate with designers to match visual design intent.
- Optimize websites for maximum speed and scalability.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 4-6 years of hands-on experience as a WordPress Developer.
- Strong experience in custom WordPress theme and plugin development.
- Knowledge in React and proficiency using and developing Gutenberg blocks.
- Ability to create responsive designs and interactive elements.
- In-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS while using Tailwind CSS.
- A detail-oriented approach to development and problem-solving.
- Excellent understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.

**Nice to Have**
- A portfolio of custom solutions developed in WordPress.
- Familiarity with additional JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks and libraries.
- Experience with Node.js and TypeScript in a production environment.
