Cake Decorator

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cake Decorator to join our team. As a Cake Decorator, you will cuts, fill, and ices cakes. Decorate and write messages on cakes using pastry bags and tips. Packages cakes for special order and back stock.

Essential Functions
- Completes and complies with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety certification, and all safety training required by warehouse and department.
- Checks production schedule for daily needs. Processes all cakes following assembly instruction in Cake Decorating Manual.
- Pulls stock from freezer or cooler to fill merchandising area.
- Follows SSOP guidelines as they refer to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position.
- Assists with other bakery duties as needed.
- De-pans, garnishes, and packages baked cheesecakes. Places finished product on racks and transfers racks to cooler, freezer or wrapping area.
- Provides prompt and courteous member service.
- Checks cake order stand for special orders.
- Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location.
- Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
- Oven racks, wheeled racks, cake slicing machine, calculator, wrapping machine, scales, pan dollies, apricot glazer, cake scorer, spatulas, cake stamps, icing bags, tips, commercial dishwasher, knives, labeler, mixer

Non-Essential Functions
- Assists in other areas of the department as necessary.
- Assists in other areas of the company as necessary.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
- Cash register, tabletop/hand-held scanners, carts, flatbeds

Required:

- Hazard Communication and JHA (initial assignment), Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 1 (within 30 days and then every year), Hazmat Universal Waste Training
- Short Version (within 30 days and then every year), Option STOP Training (within 30 days), Level 1 Food Safety Certification (within 30 days), Food Handler's Permit (prior to working in a foods area and only where required by state or local jurisdiction).
- Must be current on annual safety training within 30 days of hire.

Recommended:

- Cake decorating or comparable experience.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Math skills preferred.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $19.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
