New-Indy Packaging Sheets in La Mirada, CA is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our team as Shipping Clerk. The position is full time, and the schedule is from 10:30pm to 7am.
This is an entry-level position responsible for clerical tasks, data entry, and generating shipment paperwork. Assists the department with administrative and clerical tasks, including the logging and monitoring of inbound and outbound shipments or transfers.
What You’ll Do:
- Planning shipments for loaders to load.
- Making sure loaders are loading accurately, safely, and efficiently.
- Sending out morning status reports with information on what we have ready and what will deliver and collecting intel on whether specific locations have empty trailers for us to swap.
- Making appointments
- Making sure status reports are accurate.
- Printing BOL’s
- Communicating with loaders, production, planning, Venture, outside carriers, and customers
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
What the Environment is Like:
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
- Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print).
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects).
What You’ll Need:
- 1-2 Years of Shipping experience
- Attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills
- Bilingual is encouraged but not required.
