Medical Biller

**Job Summary**:
Assisted Living Facility in Brooklyn, Bensonhurst is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures and services to ensure timely reimbursement. Your role will involve working with medical records, insurance claims, and patient billing information. This position reports to Administrator.

**Duties**:

- Review and verify accuracy of medical documentation, including diagnoses and procedures
- Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-10 and/or ICD-9 coding systems
- Prepare and submit insurance claims electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, ensuring timely resolution
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues or discrepancies
- Maintain patient billing records and update as necessary
- Process payments from insurance companies or patients

**Experience**:

- Previous experience working at Assisted Living Facility preferred
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller
- Medical Billing and Coding Certification required
- Strong knowledge of medical billing processes, procedures, and terminology
- Proficiency in using medical billing software systems
- Familiarity with ICD-10 and/or ICD-9 coding systems
- Understanding of medical records management and HIPAA regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing procedures
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
