**The Role of Engineer 1**:
- Perform general repairs in maintenance related disciplines, including but not limited to: carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, electrical, and finish work.- Prioritize work orders through urgent requests and established hotel area down times in order to minimize inconveniencing guests.- Ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.- Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, and lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacement orders.- Assist in checking and making routine repairs and assist with major repairs of all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, boilers, HVAC, hand and power tools, and general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipelines, toilets, sinks, and other kitchen and bathroom equipment.- Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures, if needed.- Ensure security, cleanliness, preventive maintenance, and repair of engineering tools, equipment, and safety features, according to established procedures within budget.- Follow Hotel policy with lost/stolen items.- Participate with the Hotel’s Emergency Evacuation Team.- Participate in OSHA/Safety Programs, as needed/required.- Inspect, plan and ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service.- Maintain knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.- Maintain knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.- Other duties as assigned._

**Job Requirements**:
Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.- Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Fluency in other languages is beneficial.- Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written.- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency and empathy.- Outstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilities.- Professional in appearance and demeanor.- Ability to learn, understand, and work within POS, PMS, CRM, and other Hospitality specific software systems.- Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with guests, vendors, and team members.- Must have the ability to resolve problems and/or conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

**Education and Experience**:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.- Minimum of 1 year in a maintenance capacity required.- Previous experience working with heavy machinery and tools.- Thorough knowledge of OSHA requirements.
