Elevator Technician

This position is at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Need to pass a background check and drug test before starting.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Install, maintain, and repair all types of elevator equipment in compliance with safety regulations
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals to determine work procedures
- Perform preventive maintenance on elevators, escalators, and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Respond to service calls and troubleshoot issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Test elevator equipment and systems to ensure they are functioning properly
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities
- Assist in the training of new technicians
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical training in elevator maintenance/repair, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience maintaining/repairing elevators
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in small spaces
- Excellent customer service skills

**Preferred Skills and Qualifications**
- Associate’s degree in related field
- 5+ years of experience maintaining/repairing elevators
- Elevator Technician certification

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- elevator maintenance: 5 years (preferred)
