**Position Overview**
The Vice President Development and Communications (VP) is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Development and Communications Plan that provide funds, sustainability, visibility and other resources to support the organization’s mission. The VP is responsible for overall branding of the organization, working within guidelines from YWCA USA. The VP develops relationships with city, county, state and federal government to promote the mission and goals of YWCA GLA. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the VP works strategically with the CEO and other executives to provide leadership and direction to the organization.
**Primary Responsibilities**- Manage and systematically grow individual annual and major gifts, special events, corporate and foundation grants, and planned giving.- Develop and maintain working relations with key members of the philanthropic community and appropriate community groups.- Oversee donor database to ensure accuracy and analyze data to drive plans.- Hire, develop, and mentor the department staff for overall success of department in goal attainment.- Work closely with the Chief Program Officer and other program leadership to ensure programs are being adequately funded and grants are reported properly.- Oversee planning and implementation and the overall success of special events with emphasis on the financial success of each event.- In partnership with the CEO, engage the Board of Directors as fund raisers, providing training as needed.- Responsible for all YWCA GLA media activity to include television, radio, print media, and billboards.-
- Responsible for development and distribution of the Annual Report and other collateral.- Develop relationships with city, county, state and federal elected officials and their staff to advance organizational goals and secure funding.- Oversee and manage department budget.
**Salary**: $117,000-$156,101/yr.

- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Five or more years of progressively responsible senior executive leadership experience in business development, fundraising, special projects or related fields
- Understanding of local, state and federal government as it relates to grants and appropriations
- Demonstrated success in Board/volunteer relationships and staff management
- Demonstrated short and long-term planning skills
- Superior communication skills, written and oral
- Thorough knowledge of business development and community partnerships/stakeholders, donor cultivation, solicitation, legislation, public relations and recognition techniques
- Demonstrated understanding and internalization of fundraising ethics
