**About us**

We are a small New York City Department of Education High School located in the SoHo section of Manhattan. Our collegial faculty and staff are professional, collaborative and supportive of each other and our students.

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled practitioner of Restorative Justice Circles and other Restorative Justice Practices to join our team as the Dean of Students. The Dean of Students will play a crucial role in overseeing student affairs, promoting a positive campus environment, and ensuring student success.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with the administrative team to develop a positive, structured, achievement-oriented, school culture, of joy and excellence.
- Serve as a point person for discipline/culture issues; in this role, the dean is the primary contact person for all acute discipline issues.
- Contact families about attendance and truancy on a daily basis, primarily via telephone. Because much of this work is done via phone, the person in this role must exhibit exemplary communication skills.
- Be highly present and visible during school hours, relentlessly ensuring the school has a strong school culture.
- Lead lunch/recess, dismissal, after school and other transitional experiences and whole-school operations.
- Reinforce the effective use of a school-wide behavior plan.
- Proactively circulate throughout classrooms and hallways during the day to gain valuable context on student behavior and help support positive school culture.
- Aid teachers to improve their instructional practice, especially as it relates to issues of discipline, relationships with students, and school culture.
- Assist teachers, students, and parents in the effective creation and implementation of individual behavior plans (in conjunction with the Social Worker/Guidance Counselors).
- Assist the Social Worker/Guidance Counselor in designing and executing parent workshops.
- Assist in optional Saturday School programs.
- Develop and implement student conduct policies and procedures
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance the overall student experience
- Engage in strategic planning to support student retention and success
- Fluent Spanish-speaker appreciated but not required.

**Experience**:

- Skilled practitioner of Restorative Justice Circles and other Restorative
- License to teach HS-level Math and/or Special Education preferred.
- Strong supervisory skills.
- SBL optional; not required.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
