**GENERAL PURPOSE**
The Coordinator of Virtual Learning, under the direct supervision of the Director of Student Access and Opportunity, provides oversight of Stafford’s virtual learning opportunities. The coordinator will ensure that curriculum and instruction for virtual learning students meets state and local requirements. In addition, the coordinator will collaborate among departments to provide communications, professional learning, and technical support to all stakeholders. In addition, the coordinator will provide support and leadership in the development of digital teaching and learning resources and in the process for software approval.
**MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Virtual Learning Oversight
- Oversight of all full
- and part-time students in synchronous and asynchronous virtual learning offerings and support
- Develop, manage, and maintain virtual learning enrollment processes
- Collaborate with Virtual Virginia on synchronous and asynchronous virtual learning offerings
- Maintain asynchronous courses offered to students
- Ensure alignment of virtual course objectives with state standards and local requirements
- Provide support to schools in providing appropriate virtual coursework to fulfill academic needs, address schedule conflicts, and support alternative education programs
- Recruitment and instructional support of teachers of record
- Oversee contracts, invoicing, and payment processes
Professional Learning, Communication, and Technical Support
- Provide professional learning and training for school
- and division-based staff
- Provide technical support to various virtual learning platforms and systems
- Provide technical assistance with grade reporting and entry in the student information system
- Maintain attendance data in the student information system
- Coordinate student progress monitoring and intervention plans
- Communicate with stakeholders including students, parents, school counselors, school administration, and virtual learning staff regarding offerings, practices, and procedures
- Collaborate within and among departments to coordinate public communication, processes, and other services
- Ensure virtual learning students receive required textbooks, devices, and materials
Other Duties
- Provide instructional oversight of Canvas to support Department of Academic Programs staff
- Collaborate with the Department of Professional Learning and Innovative Learning Coaches to support and facilitate virtual resource integration and blended learning
- Assist with the implementation of software approval processes
- Review and make recommendations for policy revisions to support effective practices in virtual learning and student success
- Work with the NCAA on appropriate course approvals
- Provide other duties and services as assigned

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required; master’s degree in education strongly preferred;
- Administration and supervision endorsement preferred;
- Valid Virginia Professional Licensed (Collegiate or Postgraduate) or eligibility for the same required;
- Experience with coordination of programs and advanced coursework to support college and career readiness; and
- Experience directly planning, managing, and leading implementation of large-scale initiatives required.
