**Specialist, Central Dispatch**

Common Roles
- Planning, scheduling, and assigning freight with established schedules and or alternative drivers. This is done to ensure the optimum movement keeping service and cost in mind.
- Observing all loads within assigned region to ensure timely transit. Follow up on delays, late departures and late arrivals.
- Dispatch and arrive Line Haul drivers. May use Omni-Tracs to ensure electronic logging and dispatching are occurring real time.
- Follow all DOT and Haz Mat requirements for hours of service and proper load placarding. May be asked to provide BOL’s and or shipping documentation to drivers and or terminal dispatchers.
- A synergistic relationship is required between the management team in the General Office, the many terminals, drivers, and senior management teams to accomplish our mutual goals.
- Operations in Central Dispatch are open at all times, and all Dispatchers are considered Operations Essential.
- These roles are not all inclusive and there are additional functions that will be required.

**Qualifications**
- College degree preferred. Transportation knowledge in the LTL industry may be taken into consideration.
- One year experience of LTL Dispatch experience recommended.
- Transportation experience with understanding freight movement and scheduling is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills. Positive attitude with the ability to read and understand instructions and verbal communications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Skype.
- Able to work independently, or within a team environment and maintain a high level of accuracy and proficiency.
- A solid working knowledge of US Geography.
- Complete all tasks timely and accurately, completing all functions within the shift.
- Be authorized to work in the United States.

**Job Types**: Part & Full Time

**Salary**: $18 base with higher hourly rate starting possible based on experience.

Work in office, no remote work available

**This job is through a temp agency and offers no benefits or accrued vacation time.**

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 36 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Every weekend
- Holidays
- Morning shift
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:
