**Job Description** AECOM** is seeking an Environmental Technician who has experience in operating and maintaining large-scale remediation systems. This position will work closely with AECOM's Environmental Group of Managers, Geologists, Engineers, and Scientists. Should you be selected for this role you will be required to work on-site 5 days a week, and there will be an expectation of traveling at least 25% of the time outside the local region.

Some of the responsibilities performed on this role are:

- Performs a variety of tasks in support of project staff.
- May gather and maintain specified records of scientific data for supervisor, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites.
- Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.
- Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories under supervision.
- Remediation system trouble shooting and repairs

**Qualifications** Minimum Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 2+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
- Due to the nature of this role, US citizenship is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record to travel between onsite locations.
- Ability to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, noise, and chemicals. Position requires frequent (more than 50% of workday) operation of vehicles and lifting more than 75 pounds. Often (25-50% of workday) performing work with arms above shoulder level, repetitive bending/stooping, standing/walking, power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), repetitive or fine hand movements, working alone in isolated/remote areas, and lifting less than 25 to 75 pounds. Rarely (less than 10% of workday) operating heavy, moving, or dangerous equipment, performing keyboard/mouse operations, and working in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment.
- Position will include wearing all associated personal protective equipment as assigned, including but not limited to gloves, safety glasses/goggles, face shield, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, hearing protection, and respirator.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Proficient and knowledgeable with all types of groundwater sampling and gauging techniques (low flow purge, no purge, conventional).
- Proficient and knowledgeable with all types of groundwater and LNAPL treatment systems (pump and treat, soil vapor extraction, LNAPL skimming, dual phase extraction, etc.)
- Experience with Oil and Gas clients and working on active petroleum facilities.
- Experience with environmental sampling (soil, soil vapor, groundwater).
- Ability to manage subcontractors.
- Trade certification or training.
- Excellent mechanical background and aptitude.
- Prior experience working on Remediation systems.
- Familiarity with MS Office.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
