**PREPRESS SPECIALIST**

Dion Label Printing, Inc. is searching for an Experienced Prepress Specialist to join our team and support our continued growth.

**POSITION OVERVIEW**:

**Position**: Prepress Specialist for Graphics Department (Prepress)

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:

- Electronically prepares art and copy layouts for the digital & flexo print environments to satisfy customer/production specifications
- Operates a computer and other peripheral electronic equipment to complete job assignments for print production
- Studies layout or other instructions to determine work to be done
- Ensure that the proper format, dimensions, color, appearance and the layout of text and images are set to print production standards
- Create, measure and maintain brand color standards
- Produce/verify PDF(s) and printed proof(s) for customer approval and internal processing
- Create and maintain work operating procedures
- Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives
- Provide back-up for department team members

**REQUIRED

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & Acrobat
- Comprehend file/asset organization (Fonts, links, embedded images, etc.)
- Understand color fundamentals (Color separations, Process vs. Spot colors, color gamut, etc.)
- Competent on both a Mac and Windows operating system
- Works well within a team environment
- Personal initiative and problem-solving aptitude
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Familiar with preparing files for print production
- Understands resolution and the difference between vector and raster images
- Good eyesight, memory & attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality

**PREFERRED** QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Experience with the ESKO’s prepress software (Automation Engine, Color Engine, DeskPack)
- Experience with Color Measurement & Control
- Familiar with current print standards (ISO/G7)
- Understands TVI (Dot Gain) and compensation curves
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word
- Experience with Label Traxx or a similar MIS
- Any type of basic coding knowledge or proficiency (i.e.: JavaScript, XML, SQL queries)

**EDUCATION**:
A Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a similar field of study is preferred but not required

At least a high school graduate with additional field related training or experience

**SHIFT**:
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Overtime may be required, as needed, to meet schedule demands
