Mat Pilates Group Fitness Instructor

**Job Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Design and lead a fun, safe and effective Mat Pilates group class for Stanford students, faculty, staff, and eligible community at the Arrillaga Outdoor Education Recreation Center (AOERC) and Arrillaga Center for Sports and Recreation (ACSR) on Stanford Campus. Other sites may be utilized for classes as well.
- Presents classes in an organized and professional manner, while catering to participants of all fitness levels.
- Instruct clients on proper techniques to maximize exercise efficiency and safety
- Provide modifications and adjustments to accommodate individual needs
- Ability to physically demonstrate proper form and technique
- Knowledge and expertise in format.
- Maintain a clean and organized studio environment
- The instructor will represent the department in a positive manner, greeting the clients as they enter and leave class, as well as focus on customer service and commitment to providing Best in Class experience.
- Prompt and effective verbal and written communication with supervisor.
- Must adhere to Stanford Code of Conduct and all departmental requirements.
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification and/or Mat Pilates Certification
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and body mechanics
- Experience in program design for diverse populations
- Familiarity with Yoga, Dance, Kickboxing, or boot camp type classes is a plus
- Previous experience leading a group fitness class preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire clients to reach their fitness goals
- Availability during mornings (6am-9am), midday (11am-2pm), and/or evening availability (5pm-8pm), Monday-Friday preferred; weekend possibilities as well.

Pay: $40.00 - $75.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 - 8 per week
