**Medical Assistant**

**Job Purpose**: Medical Assistant works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing care to assigned patients. Medical Assistants are expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Assist in preparing patient charts for consultations, ensuring all necessary forms are complete and integrated into the patient’s records.
- Welcome patients and assist in escorting them to consultation rooms.
- Support in conducting initial patient assessments, including capturing vital signs, medical history, and reasons for visit, and documenting this information in medical records.
- Observe and assist in various psychiatric evaluations and treatments under the supervision of licensed professionals.
- Participate in team meetings and case discussions to gain a comprehensive understanding of psychiatric care.
- Assist in the coordination of patient care with other departments, including primary care and behavioral health teams.
- Adhere to privacy and confidentiality guidelines in all patient interactions and records.
- Engage in learning opportunities, including shadowing psychiatrists, attending workshops, and participating in training sessions.
- Undertake administrative tasks as required, including scheduling appointments and managing patient follow-ups.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned relevant to the field of psychiatry.

**Requirements**:

- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Psychiatry, Psychology, or related healthcare program.
- Interest and commitment to pursuing a career in psychiatry or mental health.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use or quickly learn electronic record-keeping systems (EMR, billing software, etc.).
- CPR and First Aid Certification preferred (Denova will assist with necessary certifications upon accepted offer).
- A proactive learner with a keen interest in mental health care and patient support.
- Bilingual capabilities are a plus, but not required.
