Overview:
The Purchasing Clerk provides support to the Houston purchasing staff

**Responsibilities**:

- Compile and analyze data to develop strategies for use in proper inventory management.
- Develop and use KPI’s to monitor and manage proper inventory levels of all products.
- Evaluate on-hand inventory consistent with historical sales and forecast, reviewing specific products to maintain consistent stocking levels.
- Coordinate and negotiate buys from various sources.
- Coordinate with operations and file mill claims within corporate guidelines.
- Provide sales with updates for mill pricing, availability and rolling schedules.
- Expedite vendor deliveries.
- Track mill shipments.
- Solicit/develop new sources for inventory while maintaining current vendor relationships.
- Communicate any vendor changes/updates to branch management.
- Communicate corporate purchasing policy changes with branch management.
- Adhere to all company policies/procedures.
- Maintain dead or slow-moving inventory list for monthly report to sales.
- Any other responsibilities assigned by management.

Qualifications:

- Strong computer skills utilizing various ERP programs as well as Excel and other data analytic software.
- Self-starter who is highly proficient in multi-tasking and communication.
- Must possess a strong work ethic and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
