**Job Summary**:
The PATL Technician position is a member of the technical support team and is responsible for planning, preparing, stuffing, and processing meat emulsions for purpose of testing casings and for providing technical support in the field.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for preparing emulsions to test various casing samples and for other collagen testing evaluations.
- Assist customers, sales team, and technical support in optimizing casing performance and customers’ product performance.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data.
- Report testing results, data analysis results, observations, interpretations of customer visits, and internal experiments.
- Maintain clean processing equipment and laboratory areas to ensure compliance with USDA requirements and HAACP guidelines.
- Remain abreast of current developments in the sausage and meat processing industry that could be of interest or benefit to the company.
- Ensure a healthy work environment by maintaining all safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Actively participate with other members of the technical team on product and process development projects.

**Education**:

- Associate's degree in natural science or related discipline
- Batchelor degree of Science in Chemistry or related field a plus

**About You**:

- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions on the job.
- Incumbent must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of times.
- Incumbent must be able to work on mechanical machines and computer/laptop for extended period of time
- Repetitive movement of hands and fingers
- Repetitive straining of eyes to look at machines
- Occasional lifting (up to 70lbs)
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects repetitively on a frequent basis
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
- Ability to safely use sharp cutting instruments and the handling of large and heavy equipment parts.
- Think, concentrate, talk and hear
- Frequent communications - verbal and written
- Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals, odors, dirt and dust
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to travel via car, train and plane

**Work environment**:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is loud.

The Process Application Test Laboratory and the stuffing floors of many customers are commonly kept at a temperature of 40 degrees Fahrenheit or lower and in a wet environment.
