Our headquarters is in Cerritos, CA and just down the road in La Mirada is our plant. We have distribution centers in CA, OR, GA, SC, NC and IL.
**About the role**:
**Responsibilities**:
- _
Provide support to team members by monitoring, guiding, and resolving product quality and food safety issues throughout the entire operation process_
- _ Conduct in-process testing, to ensure that products are both safe and of uniformity. _
- _Function within cross-functional teams to problem solve or improve processes and procedures._
- _ Identify opportunities for improvements, develop appropriate recommendations, implement action plans, and follow up to assure effective results. _
- _Provides technical support to both internal sales team and external customers._
- _ Monitor the collection of retains and approved that QC lead or techs have completed this process. _
- _Demonstrated high degree of sound judgement, resourcefulness, and initiative in handling complex technical assignments. _
- _Available to perform ad hoc projects that may arise. _
- _Perform production checks periodically and communicate deviations to the appropriate parties._
- _ Coach and support QC team and operations on quality standard procedures. This includes following instructions, recording deviations from process, and providing training when needed._
- _ Test and evaluate ingredient and finished good expiration and when possible, advise on shelf-life extension._
- _ Update batch records and host preproduction scheduling meeting._

B.S. in food science or related science from an accredited university_
- _ 1-3 years of food industry experience covering a combination of food manufacturing, research and development, food safety, and quality management systems _
- _1-2 years supervising others in a manufacturing facility_
- _ Able to walk, sit, stand in production area for extended periods_
- _ Strong at planning, organizing, and communicating. _
- _Knowledge of sensory evaluation, processing technology, analytical evaluation including (pH, Brix, Viscosity, Moisture, Salt concentration, and texture analysis)_
- _ Knowledge of Microsoft Office_
- _ Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus._
- _ Ability to taste test all products produced in our plant that may include certain food allergens_
