Job Title: Veterinary Assistant Weekend Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Veterinary Assistant Weekend Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of a veterinary clinic or hospital during weekends. This position requires a combination of veterinary knowledge, organizational skills, and leadership abilities to oversee the weekend staff and support the overall functioning of the facility. The individual in this role will be responsible for coordinating activities, managing resources, and assisting with veterinary tasks to maintain a high standard of care for animals.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:

- Oversee weekend veterinary assistant staff, ensuring adherence to protocols and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Provide guidance and support to the weekend team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work atmosphere.
- Address staff concerns, conflicts, and performance issues promptly and professionally.
Operational Coordination:

- Collaborate with the hospital manager/assistant supervisor to ensure seamless transition from weekday to weekend operations.
- Coordinate with other departments (reception, veterinary technicians, etc.) to optimize workflow and maintain efficiency.
- Assist in the development and implementation of weekend-specific protocols.
Patient Care:

- Participate in veterinary assistant duties, including handling and restraining animals, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with treatments.
- Monitor and ensure the well-being of animals under the care of the clinic during weekends.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and technicians to deliver high-quality veterinary care.

Client Interaction:

- Communicate effectively with clients, addressing inquiries and providing updates on their pets.
- Assist in scheduling appointments, handling client concerns, and ensuring excellent customer service during weekends.

Inventory and Supplies:

- Monitor and manage inventory levels of medical supplies, medications, and equipment.
- Collaborate with the inventory control team to ensure adequate stock for weekend operations.
Emergency Response:

- Be prepared to handle emergency situations, coordinating with the veterinary team and acting in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures and assist in training staff as necessary.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related role.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures and practices.
- Effective communication skills, both with staff and clients.
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Education and Certification:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification as a veterinary assistant is a plus.

The Veterinary Assistant Weekend Supervisor plays a crucial role in upholding the clinic's standards of care during weekends, ensuring the well-being of animals and maintaining a positive work environment for the weekend staff.

This position is not available for remote work.

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
