A Day in the life of a Dock Supervisor:
As a Dock Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in managing inventory levels, overseeing shipments, and ensuring the efficient operation of our dock area. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will collaborate closely with the supervisor team to contribute to the overall success of our facility.
Accountable For:
Inventory Management:
- Manage on-hand finished goods inventory levels for all brands and physical spaces
- Manage on-hand raw goods inventory levels and physical spaces
- Ensuring Proper placement and labeling of inventory
- ERP system entry
- Physically mark and label all items received.
Receiving:
- Manage the receiving of all raw goods and materials
- Recording supplier information, receiving conditions, and weights.
- Physically inspect, mark and label all items received.
- Supporting production & quality management through material deterioration updates
Shipping and Order Fulfillment:
- Support the customer success team in executing order confirmations.
- Communicate on-hand levels of finished goods for sales purposes.
- Ensure correct picking and shipping of materials, following FIFO.
- Perform routine consolidation of pallets in the finished goods area.
- Create Bills of Lading (BOLs) for freight shipments when applicable.
- Loading finished pallets on trucks
Quality Control:
- Act as the first and final quality checkpoint for all materials coming to the plant.
- Ensure the quality of all finished goods leaving the plant.
- Contribute to the QA and HACCP team.
Equipment Operation:
- Operate pallet jacks and stackers proficiently.
- Comfortably work with and maintain dock scales, label printers, and pallet handling equipment.
Necessary Qualifications:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs routinely.
- Endure shifts in cold storage.
- Maintain overall organization and cleanliness of the dock area, coolers, and equipment.
- Take ownership of the physical space and responsibilities.
- Communicate effectively with the supervisor team and other departments.
- Act as a crucial member of the QA and HACCP team.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and delegation skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing tasks quickly.
- Basic understandings of Food Safety
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with produce and FIFO systems
