As an **Early Head Start Teacher I**, you will directly impact young children, ages **0-3 years old**. You will be responsible for the overall monitoring and active care and supervision of the children in the classroom.

**What You'll Do**:

- **Provide diapering and personal care** to every child while maintaining a hygienic environment. Assist with dressing and personal care routines for infants and toddlers.
- **Create a nurturing environment** to children that includes activities to help children develop socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically
- **Implementing program curriculum** for children and conducting daily classroom planning
- **Working cooperatively with staff **to provide information and resources to enrolled families
- **Integrating parent involvement**, social services, nutrition, health, and mental health services into the learning
- **Planning a program of activities that support and enhance the role of parents** as the main educators of their children, with a focus on school-readiness goals
- **Maintaining children’s records** and completing and submitting monthly reporting
- **Observing, screening, and assessing** child development levels
- **Developing individualized goals that relate to the child’s development** while meeting the unique needs of each child by aligning with their interests, abilities, strengths, and pace of learning

**What We're Looking For**:

- High School Diploma
- **Minimum of 3 Infant/Toddler Course Units**:

- **6 Infant/Toddler Development course units required by the end of the first year of employment**:

- 12 ECE units preferred
- OR
- Associate of Arts (AA) degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field
- OR
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field
- English proficiency required
- Travel to all centers in all service areas, as required
- Valid California Class C Driver’s License required
- Valid automobile insurance required
- Bilingual English, Spanish, Tagalog, and/or Korean preferred
