Supervisor

A family owned and operated company hauling building materials for 30 years has an immediate opening for an experienced, full time Fleet Supervisor in the Maryland, surrounding areas. Responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day transportation operations of our dedicated drivers and fleet of trucks and trailers. The position is responsible for the effective and successful management of DOT requirements related to the trucks and their drivers at multiple locations. Travel is required and a company vehicle will be provided.

Responsibilities also include, but not limited to the following:

- Assist in driver hiring/paperwork working
- On-road training for new and existing employees
- Work directly with corporate office Operations, HR Director, Shop Supervisor

and Safety Coordinator
- Develop a sense of trust with our customer at all locations
- Responsible for addressing issues and disputes for drivers
- Maintain proper attendance and punctuality of drivers
- Manage GPS telematics and ELD system
- Fill in as necessary to ensure all deliveries are covered
- Coordinates equipment repairs
- Must have Class A or B CDL and valid Med Card
- Basic knowledge of DOT Rules and Oversize Permit Regulations
- Computer skills required
- Interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills required; ability to exchange information effectively and tactfully, when dealing with all levels of staff and handling sensitive issues
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, incidents and accidents)
- Must be able to work independently
