**Quality Engineering Manager**

PLX is a registered ISO 9001 company, design and manufacture products that meet demanding Military and Aerospace Specs, received over 30 patents for innovative optical products.

**Duties of this position include, but are not limited to**:

- Ensure PLX products meet our exacting quality standards. Ensure process and procedures are consistently and diligently applied throughout PLX
- Provide, oversee, and inspect quality of parts throughout production cycle.
- Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures
- Perform internal audits
- Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities
- Investigate customer issues and complaints relating to quality
- Use basic measuring equipment for inspection
- Microsoft Office and computer literate
- Visual inspection of optical surfaces per MIL standards
- Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies
- Programming Coordinate Measuring Machine
- First Article Inspections
- Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance
- Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications, etc.)
- Maintain records of testing, information, and various metrics such as the number of defective products per day etc.
- Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards
- Maintain the calibration system
- Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn’t meet the requirement.
- Prepare and submit reports to the Executive team
- Environmental testing
- Conduct internal quality audits

**Experience with the following is a plus**:

- CMM experience
- Previous experience in quality inspection a must
- ISO auditing skills a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

**Requirements**:

- _ Supervisory experience a must_
- Identify problems and report them to the appropriate supervisor
- Maintain quality records and report accurate and complete information in paperwork
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
- Proven experience as a quality manager or relevant role
- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
- Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems a must
- Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
- Strong knowledge of MS Office
- Understanding of ISO9001 quality systems and requirements
