**Job Overview**
The Supervisor Zone Facilities will plan, coordinate, and supervise day-to-day maintenance or operations activities of assigned skilled crafts personnel, custodians and/or contractors in an assigned zone of the Facilities Department providing physical facilities that are safe, attractive, pleasant, energy efficient and smoothly functioning. This incumbent will also develop and refine the work routine of assigned personnel and carry assignments through to completion while advising Zone Manager on technical/operational issues and recommend specific courses of action.
** Position Description**

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

**Operational**
- Coordinate the overall planning and scheduling of maintenance, operations and repairs to all buildings and grounds within the District for an assigned zone
- Assist with budget preparation; maintain capital equipment inventory and individual employee tool inventories
- Assist in recognizing hazards in building, grounds, equipment, and work areas, reporting results to the Zone Manager
- Perform to improve energy efficiency of buildings in assigned zone
- Assist with the assignment of FE and PM inspections and close work orders
- Order and create inventory on all parts/equipment needed

**Interpersonal Communication**
- Provide information to Zone Manager for modifications to new facilities
- Provide principals and police department with estimated restitution costs in vandalism situations, if applicable
- Coordinate with Athletic Department necessary responsibilities as required for all athletic activities and/or maintenance projects
- Communicate and work with principals and administration as required and provides technical assistance
- Make recommendations for safety improvements when deemed necessary
- Assist Fire Marshall with inspections and respond to their reports as needed
- Create weekly reports

**Leadership and Management**
- Approve and coordinate work orders for department personnel; if approved, assign priority
- Monitor preventive maintenance work orders; ensure that standards are consistent with all Federal, State and Local applicable laws and regulations before approving work orders
- Coordinate vacation schedules for assigned personnel and maintain attendance records; approve hourly employee time cards; assist with staff training
- Participate in review and improvement of work methods; and participate in employee selection, evaluation and promotion activities
- Assign team cleaning tasks and/or maintenance projects
- Screen, interview and conduct new employee orientation
- Handle personnel concerns such as worker's compensation, leaves administration, evaluations, progressive discipline, etc.
- Conduct weekly building inspections to determine adherence to District cleanliness/operational standards

Qualifications

- High School diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Drivers License
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant operations, custodial operations and/or facilities management preferred or minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory and/or lead role
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory and/or lead role, preferably within a school district preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of current methods, theories and practices of technical and general maintenance, repair and construction of facilities and/or custodial operations, materials and practices
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Operational knowledge MS Office computer software such as Excel, Outlook and Word
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry standard methods, theories and practices of general maintenance, repair and custodial facilities operations
- Strong knowledge of materials and supply management
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels of staff
