Mentor Teacher

The Puffer Child Care Center is seeking an experienced educator to join our team as a **Mentor Teacher**. This is a new position that affords the qualified participant the opportunity to work in classrooms with teachers as coach and mentor and as a member of the administrative team to plan and implement professional development for new and experienced staff. Puffer is a vibrant, community based early care and education program with a long history of supporting families in Lamoille County.

Teachers at Puffer Child Care Center are a group of highly passionate and fun-loving individuals. In the classroom, teachers have the freedom to set up their classroom and create developmentally appropriate curriculum based on the children's interests and the teachers' passions. **Responsibilities**
- Choose a topic of expertise to explore within the Puffer Community to support the overall program.
- Meeting with the Director to meet the responsibilities of the role.
- Model positive classroom teaching and leadership and demonstrate a willingness to work alongside classroom staff.
- Encourage staff to develop leadership skills by participating in community events and relevant committees.
- Participate in at least 1 community board or committee related to Puffer Childcare Center.

**Requirements**:
A minimum of an Associate’s degree in education, Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree preferred, with at least 3 years of classroom experience and at least one year as a supervisor or mentor or the equivalent degree in social work or related field with at least 3 years of experience in school settings and at least one year as a supervisor or mentor. Puffer will also consider experience, in replacement of the educational requirements (if they align with the Northern Lights career ladder).

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
