Freight Broker

**Location**: Tampa, Florida (Onsite)

**Open Positions**: 5

**Pay Rate (1099)**: $25 to $30 per hour + Incentives

**OR Full-Time Employment (FTE)**: $30,000 to $60,000 annually + Bonus

**Freight Broker Responsibilities**:

- Generate leads, attract new prospects, and develop a sales pipeline.
- Identify and select reputable and safe carriers for freight services.
- Provide customers with shipping quotes and book orders with carriers.
- Assist in preparing carriers for loads and track the status of loads.
- Collaborate with shippers, carriers, and dispatchers to manage scheduled collections and drop-offs.
- Keep accurate records of relevant activities and update customers on the status of shipments.
- Maintain current knowledge of market trends in the transportation marketplace.
- Identify and vet prospective carriers to build a pipeline of service providers.
- Gather information from clients to determine their shipping needs and obtain shipping quotes.
- Book freight service through carriers for clients and coordinate pickup and drop-off of shipments.
- Monitor the progress of shipments to ensure goods arrive promptly and undamaged.
- Update customer management software to keep client records accurate and advise clients on potential supply chain issues.

**Freight Broker Requirements**:

- High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
- 2+ years of work experience in a similar role.
- Established book of business preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Outstanding people skills and proficient negotiating skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets.

Pay: $24.70 - $30.00 per hour
