Essential Functions of a Regular Education Para Educator: Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work as assigned by the teacher. Assists with student supervision as assigned by the teacher or administrator. Assists with lunch, snack and cleanup routines. Carry out instructional behavioral programming planned by the teacher for individual students or groups of students.

Essential Functions of a SWD (Student With Disability), Early Childhood or 4K Program Para Educator:
Prepare educational materials under the direction of the teacher. Carry out instructional behavioral programming planned by the teacher for individual students or groups of students. Assist students in the lunchroom, or other areas as assigned. Supervise student programs including behavior management and non-violent crisis intervention procedures. Assist students with assignment completion, drill, practice and test preparation. May perform procedures such as catheterization and gastrostomy feedings, after appropriate training is provided. Accompany students to the lavatory when required and provide assistance such as changing soiled clothing or soiled diapers.

Qualifications of a Regular Education Para Educator:
High School diploma or equivalent
Keyboarding and filing skills
Ability to develop positive constructive relations with students, staff, and public.
Experience in working with children.
Knowledge and experience in the use of micro - computers, word processing and database systems.
Bilingual Preferred

Qualifications of an Early Childhood Program Para Educator:
Meet the qualifications for a Regular Education Para Educator noted above.
Experience in working with young children.

Qualifications of a SWD Para Educator:
Meet the qualifications for a Regular Education Para Educator noted above.
Experience in working with or willingness to work with students with disabilities and behavioral challenges.
Ability to work with special education students in a school setting.
Certification as or eligibility to become certified for Special Education Program Aide license (883). (District will assist with certification.)
Knowledge of and experience monitoring behavior management programs.
Ability to work with individuals and small groups of students.
For the high school transition program, must possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license.
For positions at West Middleton Elementary School and Sauk Trail Elementary School:
Title 1, Part A. Qualification of Paraprofessionals: At least two years of higher education equivalent to at least 48 semester hours from an accredited higher
education institution; or have an Associate’s degree, or meet required assessment criteria by passing the WorkKeys test. (A requirement only for one of our Title 1 sites.)

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
