Assistant Content Director/on-air Talent

**Responsibilities of this position may include**:

- Collaborating with sales and promotions to create and program brand-appropriate content to drive listener engagement and grow on-air and digital audiences.
- Working with on-air talent to uniquely connect with their on-air and digital audiences.
- On-air mid-days between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
- Analyzing Nielsen and digital metrics to shape strategy to grow the audience base, identify market risks and opportunities in order to improve ratings, and grow brands.
- Building and maintaining successful relationships with other industry and community contacts.
- Must be “sales-friendly”.
- Possess strong leadership skills.
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills to train, develop, and inspire on-air and production staff.
- Develop broadcast and digital strategies that will strengthen the presence of station brands.
- Write, develop, and execute station promotions and imaging.
- Schedule programs and music

**Job Requirements**:

- Knowledge and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro).
- 1 year + on-air production including knowledge of audio editing software and systems.
- 1 year + of video editing and video production experience.
- Proven track record of creating successful and engaging digital content across all platforms.
- Some familiarity with various podcasting hosting services.
- Must have a strong interest in covering news, politics, pop culture, and entertainment.
- Experience working within the backend of websites to post and create content.
- Experience working within a Content Management System.
- Strong knowledge of pop culture, music, and current events.
- Must be highly organized with very strong communication skills.
- The ability to work night and weekend hours to cover station remotes and events.
- The ability to utilize both problem-solving and creative thinking skills to determine solutions for programming and sales initiatives.
- Must be a self-starter who excels at working independently, with a proven track record of independent judgment and decision-making.
- Strong background and fluency in social networking and online marketing are a must.
- Strong customer service approach towards listeners.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Excellent coaching and leadership skills to train, develop, and inspire your staff to achieve their greatest potential.
- Experience with programming and digital brand management.
- Knowledge of all FCC rules and regulations.
- Understanding of the market, listeners, and competitors to drive optimum ratings growth.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations.
- Experience in all Google Suite programs.
- Proficient in the use of audio editing software and broadcast equipment.
- Must be a team player and work well with management and staff at all levels.
- Ability to successfully execute station events and remotes.
- Able to relate to the audience and have a strong listener interaction.
- Excellent problem-solving and prioritizing skills.
- Prior broadcast industry experience.
