**Premier long term skilled nursing facility located in Nassau County** has immediate opening for enthusiastic and energetic **Food Service Director**.** The **Food Service Director (FSD) **is responsible for managing the food service operation of our Skilled Nursing Facility. The **FSD** must meet all regulatory requirements, health standards, and maintain quality food service within budget. The **FSD** must consistently endeavor to deliver nutritious food, expert management, and superior service to our clients and staff.

**Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to**:

- Overseeing food preparation, portion sizes, and the overall presentation of food;
- Oversight and planning of purchasing and inventory;
- Hiring Staff and contractors for quality nutritional services;
- Inspecting supplies, equipment, and work areas;
- Ensure employee’s compliance with health and food safety standards and regulations;
- Investigating and resolving complaints regarding food quality or service;

**Qualifications**:

- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing dietary functions in the long-term care facility.
- Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
- Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the Dietary Services Department.
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of dietary service areas; must perform regular inspections of dietary service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
- 5 years minimum experience in healthcare (food and nutrition).
- Must be CDM certified.
- A current ServSafe certification.
