Currently, the Practice is actively searching for a second histotechnician to support our lab. The histotech would be part of a tight-knit team that would run our lab by maintaining the highest standards and processes for the growing practice. The histotech would be part of a strong culture of professionalism, accountability, and collaboration. The practice currently has two locations and over 40 employees. **Job** **Responsibilities**
The Histotech is responsible for preparing tissue specimens and all routine activities to prepare slides for microscopic examination by the dermatopathologist.
- Perform procedures and techniques including embedding tissue, cutting tissue blocks with high quality microtome, grossing/dissecting patient samples, and basic special stains.
- Prepare, Accession specimens for routine and special procedures
- Prepare media, chemicals, reagents, and solutions.
- Record data and prepare daily maintenance logs to ensure machine and lab is working optimally.
- Establish and monitor quality control programs.
- Maintain regulatory compliance associated with CLIA testing.
- Preserve and Store slides
- Basic troubleshooting of histology procedures and equipment

**Qualifications And Requirements**
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s Degree in science related field is preferred.
- Histology Technologist/ Histology Laboratory Technician must have ASCP certification or completion of HT training course.
- Experience as MOHS Tech is a plus but not required.
- Must be proficient in common medical terminology, electronic medical record keeping, laboratory equipment, and basic computer skills.

**Compensation**

Extremely competitive wages and benefits based on experience level. These are full-time positions but will consider part-time.
