Workers' Compensation Assistant

Under the supervision of the Supervising Workers' Compensation Consultant Officer (SWCCO), incumbent performs a variety of technical and professional duties of average difficulty relating to the Audit and Enforcement Unit. Prepares and organizes reports for audit files submitted into the Electronic Adjudication Management System in order to complete a high volume of tasks for the Audit and Enforcement Unit.
The incumbent must be able to maintain appropriate confidentiality at all times due to the nature of the work performed. Additionally, the incumbent must be dependable and have the ability to work cooperatively with staff at all levels both within and outside the Department. The incumbent must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in order to complete work assignments. Must good work habits such as punctuality and organizational skills.

The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) was established in 1927. Its mission is to improve working conditions for California's wage earners and to advance opportunities for profitable employment in California. DIR administers and enforces laws governing wages, workplace safety and health, apprenticeship training programs, and medical care and other benefits for injured workers.
